“Jiveshot Media is a trusted creative partner of Marissa Sams Events. Jeremy and his team have captured some of our most transformative moments. They take the time to understand our brand, clients, and the visual narrative we aim to convey.
Their collaborative approach ensures every shot, from candid emotional moments to polished portraits, captures the energy and sophistication of our experiences. More than just stunning images, they tell stories through visuals. When they’re on-site, our vision comes to life, through their high-quality content that inspires, engages, and leaves our audience with unforgettable memories of the moments Team MSE curates. - Marissa Sams
In the heart of Charleston, South Carolina, nestled on the storied grounds of Gadsden Wharf, lies a beacon of history and culture—the International African American Museum. As the Creative Director of event visuals (photo/video) for Marissa Sams Events, I had the profound honor of guiding the visual narrative for its grand three-day opening. This was not merely an event; it was a celebration of souls who were brought to this nation under unimaginable conditions, a tribute to their roots, lineage, and the stories that have withstood the ravages of time.
To stand amidst such profound reverence, in a place I had only read about, was to step into a living tapestry of resilience and triumph. The museum’s walls echoed with the voices of those who came before us, their untold stories whispering through the corridors, demanding to be heard and remembered. Each photograph I captured was a testament to their enduring spirit, a visual sonnet to their unyielding strength and unbreakable will.
The elegance of the setting was matched only by the gravity of the occasion. International diplomats and esteemed guests mingled with artists and visionaries, each interaction a dance of diplomacy and creativity. Live music filled the air, intertwining with the intellectual fervor of rocket scientists and cultural historians alike. It was a symphony of progress and preservation, a harmonious blend of past and future aspirations.
As a photographer, my lens sought to capture not just images, but the very essence of what it means to honor history while forging new paths. The celebration was a mosaic of struggles and celebrations, of purpose and perseverance. It was a reminder that our achievements are always a balance of art and science, creativity and precision, emotion and intellect.
